Know About Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV)

  • Introduction: JNVs(Javaharlal Navodaya Vidhyalaya) are central government-run schools under Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), under the Ministry of Education.They provide free residential education from Class 6 to 12 for rural talented students.
  • History: Started in 1986, as part of the National Policy on Education.
    Aim: Identify talented children in rural India and provide them quality education.
  • Exam Pattern (Class 6 Admission): Exam Name: JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test)
    Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper) NO NEGATIVE MARKING
    Medium: Regional Languages + Hindi/English
  • Exam Conduction: Once a year, usually Jan–Feb
  • Subjects: Mental Ability: 40 Qs – 50 Marks- 1.25 MARK EACH.
    Arithmetic: 20 Qs – 25 Marks-1.25 MARK EACH.
    Language: 20 Qs – 25 Marks-1.25 MARK EACH.
    Total: 80 Qs – 100 Marks.
    Duration: 2 hours
  • Eligibility: Studying in Class 5 in a govt-recognized school.
    Must be from rural areas (minimum 75% seats reserved)
  • Syllabus: Class 5 level Arithmetic, Mental Ability, and Language skills.
  • Students Enrolled: Over 20 lakh students appear yearly.
  • Average Seats/Year: Approx. 50,000–55,000 seats (across 650+ JNVs in India)

Know About All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE)

  • Introduction: Entrance for Sainik Schools, which are military-based boarding schools for boys and girls (Class 6 and 9).
    Managed by Sainik Schools Society, MoD (Ministry of Defense).
  • History: First Sainik School started in 1961 in Satara (Maharashtra).
    Aim: Prepare students for NDA, Defence Services & instill discipline.
  • Exam Pattern (Class 6 Admission): Class 6 Admission:
    Mode: Offline (OMR-based) NO NEGATIVE MARKING

Know About Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS)

  • Introduction: Fully residential CBSE-affiliated schools run by the Ministry of Defence.Located in Chail, Ajmer, Belgaum, Bengaluru, and Dholpur.
  • History: Started in 1925 as Prince of Wales Royal Indian Military College, now RMS.
    Aim: Prepare cadets for Defence services, including NDA.
